Boston College, From the Middle of the Road, to the Top

In the little town of Chestnut Hill right outside Boston, the Eagles are flying high. BC is sitting pretty right now at 3-0 in the conference, and nobody has been able to shut down their offense. Quarterback Matt Ryan is number 8 in the nation in passing yards with 985 and has 7 touchdown passes. Their first true test of the season came this past Saturday against one the nation’s top defenses, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets. The Eagles posted 587 total yards in route to a 24-10 win at number 15, Georgia Tech. BC will step out of conference for the next four games; each of them are very winnable. The Eagles will host Army, UMass, and Bowling Green, before traveling to helpless Notre Dame. If all goes as planned BC will be 7-0 going into their game at Virginia Tech on Thursday October 25th.

I know there are 11 other teams in the ACC, but folks, this is not a very strong conference. Let’s analyze, shall we?

Maryland: Have gotten little if any production from Jordan Steffy.

Virginia: Needs to find a way to win on the road to be able to compete.

Virginia Tech: A weak offensive line with an 18 year old qb. I don't care how good your defense is, you need to score points.

Duke: They’re Duke, I know they won a game, but their still Duke.

North Carolina: One of the youngest teams in America, happier days are ahead, but not this year.

NC State: Can’t score, can’t stop anyone else from scoring, and can’t compete.

Wake Forest: Their only win was against Army, Congratulations.

Clemson: At some point in the season no matter how well there doing; they always have a melt down. Sorry Tiger fans, It’s going to happen.

Georgia Tech: Losing Tashard Choice for however long could be catastrophic for the Jackets.

Florida State: How long will it take for them to realize that Drew Weatherford is not their man?

Miami: All that talent and nothing to show for it.

great comments,,,,,,,
you definitely know college football,,,,,
What do you think about W&M today at VA Tech? Sort of an unfair match-up, wouldn't you say?
Tech will rule on the field, but on the sidelines the W&M Cheerleaders will be the winners as they are fantastic!! Go Tribe!!

Good insight. Like to know what you think about UVA after this week.

Good post game ACC reviews --better than my local newspaper. Your comments show a great understanding of the league & what's in store for many of these teams in the upcoming weeks.
Of most significant in the Tech - W&M game is that (tiny) W&M scored against Tech's first team. This is the first time in 4 years that Tech has been scored on by a non-conference team. As you said, this shows a real weakness for Tech this season.
